The 12th Annual Drive Fore Mobility - Monday, August 12th, 2013!
On August 12th Wheelchair Foundation hosted the 12th Annual Drive Fore Mobility Golf Tournament at the beautiful Blackhawk Country Club, in Danville, California. It was a sold out field of foursomes as we welcomed back longtime supporters and many new faces. This year’s event raised over $80,000 for Wheelchair Foundation which will help provide mobility for hundreds of people as we approach the 1,000,000 wheelchair goal.
We extend our deepest appreciation to the California Pipe Trades as our Title Sponsor, Bob Herzog and Farmers Insurance, Dreisbach Enterprises, Beyond Golf, The Golf Angels, The Oakland Raiders, our amazing plethora of Tee Sponsors, those who donated silent and live auction items and our gracious food, beverage and cigar vendors for making our event a sensational success! Channel 2 sports anchor Mark Ibanez and auctioneer John Pereira did a superb job with hosting the event and the live auction. We would also like to thank the huge team of volunteers and team members, whose tireless efforts reflect their dedication to this wonderful cause.
Congratulations to Tom Morgan, Rob Boldt, Clyde Miles, and Steve Gazzaneo on their first place finish. These gentlemen shot a combined 56, tying with two other teams, and eventually won a thrilling Horse Race shootout on the 18th hole at Blackhawk to seal their victory.
In 2000, the Wheelchair Foundation and its founder, Ken Behring, embarked on a mission to bring mobility to every child, teen and adult in the world who needed a wheelchair but could not afford one. Each donation of $150 will bring hope and independence to those deprived of mobility by war, natural disaster, disease, birth defect or advanced age. To date, this non-profit organization has helped deliver wheelchairs to over 938,000 people in 156 countries.
