Rotary Clubs and Rotarians
Rotary is an organization of 1.2 million business and professional leaders worldwide, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Since March of 2001, Rotary Clubs have helped sponsor the delivery of over 140,000 wheelchairs to over 120 countries worldwide, changing the lives of individuals and their families in a positive and long lasting way.

Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men's fraternal benefit society that was formed in 1882 to render financial aid to members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works. Bound together by the ideal of Christopher Columbus, the one whose hand brought Christianity to the New World, the Knights take charge in civic involvement and aid to those in need. The Knights of Columbus sponsored 2,000 wheelchairs delivered to Afghanistan in 2003-2004 that are allowing one of the world's most physically devastated populations to send children to school, adults to work to provide for their families, and the elderly to once again become a part of society. Since then, the Knights in California have led the way to an overall sponsorship of thousands of wheelchairs sent to countries around the world.

Samaritan's Purse
Samaritan's Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan's Purse has helped meet the needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine. Our goal is to provide immediate, no-red-tape response to individuals in crisis areas of the world, especially where few others are working. Samaritan's Purse takes its inspiration from the parable of the Good Samaritan found in the Gospel of Luke in the Bible. After describing how the Samaritan rescued an injured man whom others had passed by, Jesus Christ told His hearers, "Go and do likewise." Samaritan's Purse currently is working in more than 100 countries.

Chevron
Chevron takes pride not only in its products and services, but also in the way it conducts its worldwide operations. The company's principles and values are embodied in The Chevron Way, which provides an integrated framework for its strategies and goals. The company's Mission and Vision statements are part of the Chevron Way. Chevron sponsored 240 wheelchairs to Angola in 2001, and has contributed additional funds to match the donations of Rotary Clubs, which will send an additional 2,000 wheelchairs to Angola in 2002. This is a country of 12 million people that nearly 20% are immobile because of land mines or other causes. We congratulate Chevron for using its influence and resources to help some of the neediest people in the world, and recognizing the need for a continuing relief effort.

Viet Nam Veterans of Diablo Valley
Members of the Viet Nam Veterans of Diablo Valley, California, returned to Viet Nam in November 2006 on a 13-day trip that deeply affected each, far removed from the mission that brought them there the first time, some 40 years ago. The group had raised enough money to send 560 wheelchairs to Viet Nam. They also brought $3,500 dollars to donate to a number of children's schools and orphanages and had also brought, thanks to the generosity of the V.A. Hospital in Martinez, California, over 60 pounds of medicines for distribution.

The Viet Nam Veterans of Diablo Valley, California, is a nonprofit organization, composed primarily of present and former members of the Armed Forces of the United States, who served during the Viet Nam conflict and are eligible for the Viet Nam Service Medal. The VNVDV is committed to improving the image of Viet Nam veterans and providing support to veterans, especially Viet Nam veterans, through selected government and private organizations. An additional purpose is to foster patriotism and loyalty to the United States of America, through the support of local community activities, which recognize the contributions and sacrifices of Veterans.
