Comments from some of our distribution trip participants…..

I can’t put into words how much I loved the wheelchair deliveries and the whole experience. It was so wonderful getting to be a part of the full circle from raising money for the wheelchairs to delivering them in person to the people of Costa Rica. I’m still frequently looking back at my pictures and recalling the different stories that the recipients or their families shared – how and why they were in need of a wheelchair. They were so grateful for the gift of mobility, and I am so grateful to have been a part of it.
I am definitely going to work on my Espanol in hopes of attending next year’s delivery! In addition to the deliveries, I am really appreciative for the people who I shared the experience with…what a great group! Thank you for organizing the trip and making it such a memorable experience. I look forward to raising more awareness and donations at my school this fall.

Distributing wheelchairs in Honduras allowed me to directly contribute to an extensive, global effort with my own two hands, and provided me with an eye opening experience that has broadened my knowledge and changed my outlook on life. Working with the Wheelchair Foundation has been an absolute blessing. Traveling to Guatemala in 2013 and Honduras in 2014 has not only changed my life, but has shown the students of PUSD that they are capable of making a positive impact on the lives of so many.
Experiencing unique countries, the opportunity to help those in need, and the connections made with the recipients are irreplaceable. I can’t wait to change lives in Peru in 2015!

It was very eye opening unlike anything I have ever experienced before.  While distributing the wheelchairs, I felt a unique sense of joy that I was giving back to people who were less fortunate than myself.  Seeing the happiness in the recipients and their caregivers hit deep and helped me realize how a new wheelchair could improve so many lives–both recipients and their caregivers.  The house deliveries showed me the lack of freedom that many without a decent wheelchair experience daily.  I liked seeing the new found joy of the families.

I also found a great sense of achievement when I gave the set of soccer uniforms to the coach at the Costa Rican school.  He said they needed a set of jerseys because they had an upcoming tournament.  I knew they would be used – that made me very happy!

Overall the trip was great and enjoyable way to help people.  I feel so lucky to have gone on it!

Absolutely amazing!  From the first introduction, hearing the inspirational stories of Josh, Don and Bill, to transforming lives by providing much-needed independence in the form of wheelchairs, to the random acts of kindness we spread throughout Costa Rica, to bonding with the other volunteers and high school students. I have not stopped sharing this incredibly moving and motivating experience with ALL of my friends and family!
The individuals from the Rotary organization of Costa Rica were generous ambassadors, welcoming us into their home, sharing food, assisting us in touring the landscape and rainforest, which gave us a glimpse of the culture of the region. Truly a journey of a lifetime, although I plan to make the trip again…to be continued……

The trip exceeded my expectations. I thought it would be similar to service projects I had done before, but it was so much more. To immediately see how we changed people’s lives was incredible and life changing. Not only that, but seeing as how that was the first time I had been out of the country it was especially amazing. Aside from that, I also loved getting to know all the different kinds of people that went on the trip and having fun in between the distributions. All in all, it was probably the most incredible experience I’ve had.

I know the words “life changing” get thrown around a lot, but this is one of the few time in my life where I can say that something truly was. Honduras was an eye-opening experience that changed my entire outlook on the world for the better. It exceeded my expectations in every way.

In 2013 I went to Guatemala to distribute Wheelchairs.  It was a life changing experience!  I started making plans for the 2014 Honduras trip as soon as I got back.  The Honduras trip was even better than Guatemala and I know the Peru trip will change even more lives.

My students have a better understanding of the need to give others mobility after I talk about the trips and show them pictures of the distributions.

Max has slowly taken us through the entire trip and it sounds like a truly incredible, and life altering experience. One of the things I am so impressed by is how direct and immediate your help is for those in need. I know Max wishes to stay involved with the Wheelchair Foundation and I hope he can continue to learn and grow from the example you set.
